Florence “Dee” Evan, age 73, of Savanna, Illinois, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 17, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Savanna. Cremation rites will take place following the mass. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 16, 2018 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. A memorial fund has been established in Dee’s memory. In honor of Dee’s memory, the family requests that anyone who attends services please wear purple.
Dee was born July 23, 1945, in Dover, Minnesota, the daughter of Everett and Vera (Riehl) Minnich. On August 3, 1981, Dee married the love of her life George Evan. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Savanna.
Dee owned and operated the Nite Owl Cleaning Service. She also owned Dee’s Gifts and Crafts and at Button & Bows. She enjoyed making crafts and being on the computer. Dee had a love for dogs and cared for many through the years. Dee treasured the time she spent wither her family and special friend, Mary Hiher-Barkley.
Dee will be dearly missed by her husband George; three sons, Archie Kemp of Fort Collins, Colorado, Todd (Rosa) Kemp of Kemmerer, Wyoming, and Timothy (Angie) Kemp of Ceweta, Oklahoma; one daughter, LaManda (Chad) Dykema of Savanna, Illinois; two step-sons, Rick (Cheri) Evan of Beaver Creek, Oregon and Roni Evan of Florida; three step-daughters, Robin (Jamie) Smith and Rayne (Randy) Hanevik, both of Blue Earth, Minnesota, Roxanne (David) Robertson of Brooksville, Florida; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Greg (Ruth) Minnich of Bettendorf, Iowa; one sister, Sharon Minnich of Rock Island, Illinois; many nieces and nephews. Dee is preceded in death by her parents Everett and Vera, brothers Tom and Harvey, and sister Judy.
