Dakota Wolber, age 25, of Murrieta, California, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018, at home. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Thomson. Burial will take place in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Galesburg, Illinois. A visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 21, 2018 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Thomson. A memorial fund has been established in Dakota’s memory.
Dakota was born February 12th, 1993, in Freeport, Illinois, the beloved son of Jody L. Wolber and Laura J. Sheeley. In 2010, he was selected to attend the National Security Conference in Washington, DC. He attended Murrieta Valley High School in Murrieta, California, and graduated with the Class of 2011. He later went on to receive his B.S. in Audio Production from the Art Institute of San Bernardino where he graduated with honors.
Dakota was employed as a journeyman at abcSAGE, Inc. in LaCresta, California under the guidance and direction of Kurt.
He was a baptized member of Clinton Church of Christ, Clinton, IA which he began attending with his maternal grandparents.
Dakota was a lover of horses; his dogs; motorcycles; and classic cars, especially his father's GTO, which he and his father spent many hours together working on, showing and enjoying; and his own Trans Am.
Dakota had a profound passion for creating and listening to all types of music.
Dakota will be deeply missed by his father, Jody Wolber of Mt. Carroll, Illinois; his mother, Laura Sheeley of Temecula, California; paternal grandparents, Ronald (Helen) Wolber of Mt. Carroll, Illinois; maternal grandmother, Christine Marie Richards of Fulton, Illinois; adopted father, Kurt Axel Sorensen of Murrieta, California; two brothers, Justin (Ashley) Wolber of Warren, Illinois; nephews, Corbin and Brody Wolber; and Brendan Lee Schnitzler of Palo Alto, California; a sister, Dyanna Marie (Josh) Edenstrom of Lexington, Kentucky; niece, Joanna Noel Edenstrom; uncle Andrew Richards and cousins, Chance and Kylie Ann Richards; aunt Sarah Hatheway, and cousins Alex Hatheway and Jada Bostic.
Dakota is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ronald William Sheeley; and Great Grandparents Wayne and Anna Marie Richards; Uncle Robert William Sheeley and adopted Grandmother Janice C Sorensen.
