Brooke Lynn Kessler

Brooke Lynn Kessler, age 34 of Savanna, Illinois, formerly of Sterling, Illinois died on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at her mother’s home, Savanna. Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 8, 2010 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Savanna. A memorial gathering will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., prior to the service at the church. A memorial fund has been established in Brooke's memory.Brooke was born on November 19, 1975, the daughter of Christine Ann (Snyder) and Rick Kessler in Sterling, Illinois. Brooke was baptized and confirmed in the Grace Episcopal Church, Sterling. She spent her childhood with her family in Prairieville, Illinois, near Sterling. Brooke loved her family, the outdoors and all animals, especially her cats and dogs.During her senior year, Brooke interned at the Illinois Department of Transportation in Dixon, Illinois. She attended school in Sterling and graduated high school with the Class of 1993. After high school, Brooke followed in the footsteps of her grandfather and brother, Andrew; learning masonry skills associated with Ceramic Tiling. At the age of twenty-one, Brooke was involved in a tragic car accident that changed her life and the lives of her family and friends. She has been lovingly taken care of by her family for the past fourteen years.Brooke will be dearly missed by her mother, Christine Ann Lee of Savanna; her father, Rick (Linda) Kessler of Mount Carroll; step-father, Allen Lee of Sterling; two brothers, Andrew “Drew” (Jeni) Kessler of Rock Falls and Marcus Cleary of Salem, Oregon; four sisters, Laura (Bryan) O’Neal of Sterling, Megan (Josh) Tegeler of Dixon, Illinois, Katherine Lee of Sterling and Rikki Kessler of Harmon (Currently serving in the United States Marine Corp); ten nieces and nephews, Trista, Ryley, Hannah Brooke Lynn, Jacob, Lauryn, Bailey, Payton, Nathan, Brady and Breanna; her maternal grandmother, Julienne Hook of Savanna; a paternal grandmother, Mary Ann Lee of Sterling; and several aunts and uncles, Cindy (Scott) Musser, David Hook, Ron (Sara) Kessler, Karen Zink and Charles (Susan) Lee.Brooke is preceded in death by her grandparents, Glen Snyder, Bob Hook, Herb and Mary Kessler and Robert Lee.
