Beverly Jane Haiar

Beverly Jane Haiar, age 76 of Sabula, Iowa died Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, Iowa. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 439 3rd Avenue South, Clinton. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2014 at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Sabula, Iowa. A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., prior to the service at the church. A memorial fund has been established in Beverly’s memory.
Beverly was born on May 2, 1938, the daughter of Wyman and Emily (Bingham) Paisley in Hanover, Illinois. She attended Savanna and Hanover schools. She married Jerico Haiar on September 18, 1954 in Sabula. Jerico died on April 8, 2009
Beverly worked as a lineworker for several area factories. She worked at the Savanna Army Depot, Swiss Colony, Savanna and the Sabula Speaker factory. She was a former member of St. Peters Catholic Church, Sabula. She also supported Girl Scouts of America and was a Girl Scout leader in Miles, Iowa for several years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, and watching Wheel of Fortune. Most of all, Beverly loved spending time with her family—especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Beverly will be dearly missed by her two sons, Jerry (Nancy) Haiar of Camanche, Iowa and David Haiar of Sabula; one daughter, Barbara Johnson of Sabula; six grandchildren, Kurt (Mary) Haiar of Davenport, Iowa, Jill (Brian) Zimmerman of DeWitt, Iowa, Catherine (Jimmy) Weispfenning of Clinton, Iowa, Carla Zavala of Camanche, Mary Ann Johnson of Camanche and Jarrod (Amy) Haiar of Davenport; 12 great-grandchildren; three half-brothers, Jerry (Julie) Paisley of Clinton, Richard Paisley of Clinton, and Clint (Bonnie) Paisley of Aurora, Nebraska; and one half-sister, Roberta Diaz of Sterling, Illinois.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerico; one daughter, Cindy Haiar; a sister, Betty Droster; one brother, Charles Paisley; a half-sister, Gayle Notz; her parents Wyman and Emily, and her stepmother, Marian Paisley.
