Mary Jane Funston Obituary
Mary Jane Funston, age 101, of Elizabeth, Illinois, died Saturday, June 23, 2012, at the Galena Stauss Nursing Home in Galena, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Elizabeth. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, rural Galena. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, at Law-Jones Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
Mary Jane was born September 20, 1910, in Galena, Illinois, the daughter of Howard and Lily (Shires) Virtue. She was united in marriage to Wesley Funston on December 1, 1937. He preceded her in death in 1992. Mary Jane and Wesley farmed together in Irish Hollow, Rice Township, Illinois.
Mary Jane is survived by several nieces and nephews. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wesley Funston; one sister, Marjorie; and four brothers, William, Malcolm, Ralph and Roger.
