Beverly Giddings Obituary
Beverly Giddings, age 68 of Sabula, Iowa, died on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center, Clinton, Iowa. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Sabula with Reverend Robert Kruger Officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Sabula. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m., prior to the service at the Church. Memorials may be given in Beverly’s memory for the Calvary Lutheran Sunday School Program. Beverly was born on July 12, 1943 to Russell and Visetta (Greve) Leonard, in Savanna, Illinois. She grew up on farms in the Sabula area, and attended the Almont Country School. She graduated from Sabula High School in 1961. Beverly attended the American Institute of Commerce, in Bettendorf, Iowa; after which she worked at the Savanna Army Depot until her marriage.
Beverly married Ronald E. Giddings on August 17, 1963 in Sabula at the Calvary Lutheran Church. She worked at the Sabula Speaker Company, local cafes, and several factories in Savanna and Clinton, Iowa.
Beverly was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and the Sabula V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, as well as baking, cooking, gardening, and taking rides on the Mississippi with her family.
Beverly will be dearly missed by her husband Ronald “Butch” Giddings, of Sabula; two sons and two daughters, Ronald (Betty) Giddings of Independence, Iowa, Rebecca (Jerry) Matous of Sabula, Russell (Becky Hanson) Giddings of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Sarah (Mark) Pease of Camanche, Iowa; Nine grandchildren, Joshua and Joseph Pease, Samantha Hanson, Chelsea Roe, Matthew Matous, Nathan, Spencer, Lauren, and Lillian Giddings; 5 great grandchildren, Malachi, Emma, Kiefer, John, and Isaiah, one sister, Judy (David) Rittmer of Sabula, and her mother, Visetta Leonard of Sabula.
Beverly was preceded in death by her son, Randal Ray Giddings; her father, Russell Leonard; and her mother and father in-law, Robert and Irma Giddings.
