Carl Lewis “Hulio” Grube, age 48 of Elizabeth, Illinois, died on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Home. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Elizabeth with Father Noel Jacob as Celebrant. Burial will take place in the Schapville Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Law-Jones funeral Home, Elizabeth.  A memorial fund has been established in Carl’s memory.

Carl was born on January 24, 1964 in Dubuque, Iowa the son of Meldon and Evelyn (Scadden) Grube. He graduated from the Elizabeth High School with the Class of 1982. Carl married Karla L. Reese on September 21, 2002.  They have one son, Trevor.

He worked for the Guilford Township Road Department, and farmed near Elizabeth. Carl loved spending time with his family and friends. As well as being active in the Elizabeth Volunteer Fire Department.  He enjoyed farm life and working on cars.

Carl will be missed by his wife, Karla, and  Son, Trevor Grube, both of Elizabeth;  four brothers, Charles Grube of Florida, Loren Grube of Galena, Donnie Grube of Beloit, WI, and David (Peggy) Grube of Hanover; three sisters, Leah (Sergio) Cam of Long Beach, CA, Jane (Eldon) Young of Glenwood, IA, and Joyce (Miles) Hegstrom of Perry, IA; sister in-law, Marla Reese, of Milwaukee, WI; and brother in-law, Larry Reese of Potosi, WI. Carl was predeceased by his parents, and one sister, Jean.
